One Hour to Go...

So my best friend, princess is almost about to land. I am so excited. It's been so long and I'm a little nervous. I think I get nervous every time, hoping that she has a wonderful time, that we do things that she likes to do, etc. I'm also stressed out about Sat night. 50+ people at my house. I've never hosted anything more than 30 and not sure what 50+ means. But, I've vowed not to think too much about it till Friday. Friday morning I can make lists and get really stressed out about that many people coming over.
So, I love etsy. Have for a long time, the passion from the beginning is gone and I no longer have a need to check my site every 6 minutes to see if anything has been purchased or if I've gotten a new comment. However, I do love the convos and I got a great one yesterday. Another one of my pillows is being featured:

Pillows are for some reason hard to sell. Not sure why but they are.

So not much else to talk about. Most of the house is clean and ready for Jenn and her daughter and I hope to post pictures soon. Damn Shay-ney-ney is back at the back door crying cause I'm not in the den entertaining her. Puppies are bad.

Not A Hippie

So this weekend is the 40th anniversary of Woodstock. I have no real association with the festival. My parents weren't hippies, and I have NEVER had the desire to wear patchouli and not shower or shave, yet this morning when I woke up, I was inclined to pull up the youtube video of Jimi Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner.
There are 20 seconds I have seen countless times, yet the other 3 minutes, it was the first. Lots of realizations as I watched. Did anyone there even have the smallest inkling that it would be possible for me to pull up a video exactly 40 years to almost the minute to watch it? I had been told countless times that the Sunday morning when Jimi Hendrix came onto the stage and played that it changed everyone. As I watched the crowd's reaction to the moment, there was no overwhelming sense of 'wow, I'm watching history'. If anything it looked like they were more curious as to what the hell was all that racket (this is my interpretation of 500 people who were tired, stoned and in need of a good scrubbing).
I also wondered where everyone who was in the video and in the crowd - where are they? The notorious ones are dead (Jimi, Janice, etc.) but for the people just standing there, what did their lives turn out to be? The guy who has his back almost turned to Jimi - was he a roadie? The ass who bullies everyone and was just taking a break? A lucky bastard who stumbled onto the stage and everyone just let him be? And why not face the audience and watch, why watch what's going on backstage, unless what was happening there was more interesting.
Well these are the ramblings of me with too many thoughts too early in the morning.
